Myrtle Beach Italian restaurant sold alcohol without permit, SLED says

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — The operator of a Myrtle Beach Italian restaurant is facing multiple state alcohol-licensing violations after SLED said the business illegally sold alcohol to an undercover agent in July.

Cafe Vincenzo operator Genci Cake, 43, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with failure to secure a beer or wine sale permit, unlawful sale of alcohol and unlawful storage or possession of alcohol in a place of business. He posted a $3,000 bond and was released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center the same day, according to online jail records.

The sale took place on July 7 at the restaurant at 7710 N. Kings Highway, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said. The business did not have a license to sell or store alcohol at the time.

A sign posted outside of the restaurant said it will have a “grand re-opening” on Sept. 5. Another sign indicates the business has since applied for an alcohol beverage license…
