PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Two Pensacola men have been sentenced for possession of a machine gun, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.

Kewhan Landrum, 19, and Deyonte’ Betties, 21, had previously pleaded guilty to the charges in federal court. Landrum was sentenced to 36 months in federal prison, and Betties received 40 months.
Court documents said that in October 2024, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies seized a Glock pistol that had a conversion device on it from Landrum. The device allowed the gun to “function and fire” as a machine gun, according to court documents.
Officers reportedly learned Landrum had gotten the gun from Betties. Evidence indicated that Betties had several other firearms with machine gun conversion devices. Both men had “consistently been engaged in trading firearms and narcotics,” the release said.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
