(Des Moines, IA) — Those funny, clever Iowa DOT message boards are going away after Labor Day.
The Iowa Department of Transportation began displaying humorous messages in 2012, and they quickly became a hit. At one point, the DOT even invited the public to submit their own ideas for the witty signs. Phrases like “Get your head out of your apps, drive safely” and “That’s the temperature, not the speed limit” sparked conversation and smiles.
