A man from Houston was recently sentenced to four decades in federal prison after being found guilty of drug trafficking and an involvement in a meth conspiracy.
Kendal Monzon Jr. Escaping Police in Texas
On November 24, 2020, law enforcement in South Texas conducted a traffic stop on 25-year-old Kendal Alejandro Monzon Jr. When officers attempted to pull Monzon over, he fled in his vehicle at 90 mph through residential neighborhoods , a release from the Texas Department of Justice reports.
Monzon ran multiple red lights before crashing into a law enforcement vehicle. After being placed into custody, cops on the scene discovered 15 cylinders wrapped in plastic containing 17,234 grams of methamphetamine.
Shocking Amount of Narcotics and Weapons Discovered
An investigation was opened and another seizure linked to Monzon was made shortly thereafter. This included a list of illegal goods, including the following:
- Cocaine
- Crack cocaine
- Marijuana
- Large amounts of cash
- Sealed prescription bottles of Promethazine with Codeine (allergy-fighting and pain medication)
- More than 20 firearms
Several of the weapons detained by authorities were seen to have been attached with silencers and modified to be fully automatic .
