MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — A man was arrested in Mahomet over the weekend after prosecutors said he set fire to his own home in a suburb of Chicago, endangering his neighbors in the process, and then led State Police on a chase along I-74.
In a news release on Facebook, the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office said Eric Neuman, 52, is facing charges of aggravated arson, arson and criminal damage to property. The charges stem from a house fire and explosion in Carol Stream early Saturday morning.

Carol Stream Police said in a news release of their own that officers responded around 4:30 a.m. to a report of a residential structure fire. Once they arrived, officers found the home “heavily involved in fire.”
“During the incident, two adjacent homes sustained moderate heat and fire damage,” police said. “The residence where the fire originated was unoccupied, and no injuries have been reported.”…
