DENVER (KDVR) — Two Greeley police officers were ruled to be justified in the deadly shooting of a man near the University of Northern Colorado in June, the 19th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced in a press release on Monday.
In the press release, the DA’s office said that after an investigation by the 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team, DA Michael Rourke determined that officers involved in a shooting on June 18 were justified in discharging their firearms at a man identified as Theodore Lee Rybus, 41.
The investigation stated that officers tried to pull over Rybus, who was driving a Buick and had an active felony warrant for alleged motor vehicle theft. He refused to pull over, resulting in the police ending the initial attempted traffic stop…
