- It’s been tough weather for fire crews. Thunderstorms rolling overhead delivered about 200 lightning strikes around the southern Willamette Valley over the past 24 hours — without bringing much rain. Agencies were responding to several new wildfires, and crews continued to fight the 1,200-acre Emigrant Fire near Diamond Peak. Ashli Blow has been keeping on top of the developments.
- A recommendation for revitalizing the Lane Events Center shows an expanded convention center and possibly a hotel on the site of what is now the Lane County History Museum. It’s unclear what would happen to the museum. The plan will be presented to county commissioners at a meeting tomorrow.
