Land purchase for new Sparks City Hall approved

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – A plan for the construction of a new Sparks City Hall is moving forward. $10 million of restricted Redevelopment Area 2 (RDA 2) funds will be used to purchase 8 acres of land at 650 Marina Gateway Drive after being approved by the Sparks Redevelopment Agency (RDA) on Monday.

“We are grateful that the landowner was willing to sell this property and are very excited to purchase the land using RDA 2 funds,” said RDA Chair Donald Abbott. “This is truly a well thought out success story that started in 1999. Our community has been investing in RDA 2 for more than 26 years and potentially building an efficient City Hall campus would be a great use of these public funds.”
