City searches for developer to build housing near future Kalihi rail station

KALIHI (HawaiiNewsNow) – The city is looking for a developer for building affordable housing near the future Mokauea rail station in Kalihi.

The city recently acquired the old Dee Lite Bakery on Dillingham Boulevard and adjacent parcel on Eluwene Street about 2 and a quarter acres in all.

The plan is to demolish the buildings and replace them with at least 150 new housing units next to the future station…
