Deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to a property on Richbow Road near Rembert and Horatio in Sumter County. The property owner discovered two bodies in a wooded clearing on August 8 around 1:17pm. Officials are investigating both deaths as homicides.
The victims were identified as Kristen N. Grissom, 38, of North Charleston, and Christine Marie McAbee, 35, of Walterboro.
At a press conference Tuesday, August 12th, Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said McAbee died from a gunshot wound. Baker estimated the women had been in the clearing for more than 24 hours before they were found. The autopsy results for Grissom had not yet been completed at the time of the press conference…
