False Report in Oakdale Leads to SWAT Response, Arrest of Woman

On the morning of August 19, 2025, deputies from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that ultimately led to the activation of both the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) before concluding in an arrest.

At approximately 7:40 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 6800 block of River Road in Oakdale after receiving a 911 call from 33-year-old Cheyenne Spears. She reported she had been struck with a baseball bat and alleged the father of her 8-month-old child was responsible. Spears further stated that the man was inside a nearby residence with the infant and had made threats that he might harm the child.

In response, deputies implemented immediate safety measures. They closed River Road between Cleveland Avenue and Liberini Avenue, requested that a nearby school be placed on lockdown out of caution, and activated CNT and SWAT to ensure the child’s safe recovery.
