Family starts fundraiser after parents die in carbon monoxide exposure

LARGO, Md. — A family in Maryland is reeling over the sudden loss of their parents following a carbon monoxide exposure last week. Now, family members have started an online fundraiser to raise money for funeral expenses.

Prince George’s County Fire Department spokesperson Michael Yourishin told WUSA9 that crews were called to the 9800 block of Berrywood Court in Largo for a medical emergency just before 11 a.m. When firefighters arrived on scene, they removed three people from an end-of-group rowhome. All of them were showing symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure. A man and a woman later died at the hospital.
