The 164th Woodstock Fair comes to CT this week with The Jacksons, fireworks

An over-a-century-long tradition is returning to Woodstock this weekend.

The 164th Woodstock Fair will be held at the Woodstock Fairgrounds from Aug. 28 to Sept. 1. The Aug. 28 date will feature a firework show lighting up the night sky at 9:30 p.m.

On the fair’s main stage, guests can see a motorcyclist perform stunts inside the Nerveless Nocks Globe of Death, which is a metal cage shaped like a ball, illusionist David Garrity and hypnotist Jim Spinnato. Musicians including Grand Funk Railroad, Best of Led Zeppelin, Ed Peabody and The Big Blue Thang and The Jacksons (the family of pop icon Michael Jackson) will perform on the main stage as well.

A “family fun” area of the fair will feature farmer Tom Walsh singing, Janoah the Jester doing comedy shows, martial arts shows, puppy shows and pie and pizza eating contests. Guests can ride carnival rides, including a Ferris wheel, spinning coaster and carousel…
