A Clinton firefighter who’s become an expert in rope rescues realized that his department was using outdated equipment. Knowing that the budget was tight, Lt. Joshua Wilson set out to find another way to come up with the money to buy the needed gear.
“I went out [and] started talking to local businesses to see what their response would be,” Wilson says. “We did a letter basically explaining everything that we were going to do. Businesses were more than willing to donate. The businesses of Clinton really stood up and helped us out” – to the tune of more than $22,000. “It completely covered all the costs,” says Wilson.
