Man arrives to Madison ER with gunshot wound, Monona police investigating

MONONA, Wis. — The Monona Police Department (MOPD) is investigating after a man was brought into a Madison ER with a gunshot wound, according to a press release.

The Monona Police Department was informed by the Madison Police Department of a man who was brought into the ER around 2:36 p.m. Monday for injuries sustained as a result of a gunshot. The individuals who dropped the man then left the area in a vehicle. The man with the gunshot wound was taken to another local hospital, where he underwent abdominal surgery.

Madison police notified Monona police just after 4 p.m., as information from their investigation led detectives to an apartment building in the 6300 block of East Gate Rd in Monona. MOPD officers and investigators have been working to identify and recover any potential evidence that may be at the apartment in Monona.
