Minneapolis Police Seize Loaded Gun from Probationer After Traffic Stop on 26th and Lyndale

In the streets of Minneapolis, vigilance by the 5th Precinct officers led to the apprehension of an armed traffic violator on the crossroads of 26th Street and Lyndale Avenue South. As reported by the Minneapolis Police Department’s social media post, the driver, now known to have been breaking more than just traffic laws, ran a red light only to be stopped by the law enforcement officers on patrol.

Moving in for what at first glance appeared to be a routine traffic stop, the officers were quick to note the presence of open containers of marijuana in the vehicle. The officers, after spotting the containers, conducted a search that culminated in the discovery of a loaded gun. Notably, the driver, currently under probation, was not legally permitted to possess a firearm. Spotted while conducting the search, the driver was arrested without delay, adding a layer of security to the Minneapolis community…
