Heatwave is over, yet very warm weather through Labor Day Weekend

I doubt anyone complains when, during a heatwave, clouds show up and “bust” a forecast. Sure enough, a weak upper-level disturbance over Central Oregon pushed clouds up over much of NW Oregon and SW Washington. Even though it’s a very warm/hot atmosphere overhead, thick cloud cover can easily keep us in the 80s. Portland hit 88 today, with coolest temps east metro where clouds were thickest

Eugene picked up enough late-day sun to reach mid-90s.

It may have taken until the end of August,…..
