Billions in state funding withheld from Pa. public schools; budget 8 weeks overdue

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Education advocates are urging Pennsylvania lawmakers to pass a state budget. The budget is eight weeks overdue, which has led to a funding freeze impacting public schools across the Commonwealth.

In a Tuesday news conference, the Pennsylvania State Education Association revealed that more than $1.75 billion is currently being withheld from public schools.
