Kern County man pleads not guilty to charges after alleged altercation with child

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — On April 23, 2024, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer, who expressed concern about her nephew, Zack Scrivner, reportedly experiencing a mental health episode at his home in Tehachapi.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Scrivner had been involved in an altercation with one of his children, resulting in two stab wounds to his upper torso.
