Ruling allowing open carry in Tennessee parks draws mixed reactions

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A decision in Gibson County Chancery Court on Monday struck down a Tennessee state law. The ruling makes it legal to openly carry a gun in a state or municipal park and argues that a ban is unconstitutional. The ruling brings a mixed reaction.

Emily Pritt, a gun safety instructor, called the decision a ‘win’ for gun owners.

“Personal protection is what it all boils down to, and we all have a right to protect ourselves and be safe,” Pritt said. “I’d rather have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.”…
