ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Escambia County Fire Rescue now has 11 open positions with a $3 hourly increase granted by Escambia County Commissioners in May, bringing the hourly rate up from $13 to $16.

The ECFR team is ready to hire and train as quickly as possible, but it all starts with passing the physical abilities test.
With ECFR being the largest department along the panhandle, Captain Joel Richardson said folks should want to come work for the county to have a little taste of everything, providing emergency care to residents from Perdido Key all the way to Century.
“It gives lots of people an opportunity to find what their niche in emergency services (is),” Richardson said. “So, whether they want to be busy, if they want to be in more community based, more rural based, or even a very urban environment, we have that opportunity.”…
