Woman attempts to rob Wells Fargo bank in Northern California with knife, police say

Around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department received several 911 calls about a bank robbery in progress at Wells Fargo, located at 120 W. Lodi Avenue. A caller reported that a woman entered the bank and passed a note to a bank employee. The note demanded money and threatened to harm staff, according to LPD.

When officers arrived at the scene, they said they surrounded the building and attempted to clear the immediate area. Several employees reportedly escaped the building. However, some remained inside. LPD said one employee stayed on the phone with 911 and told them that the suspect had produced a knife.

Shortly thereafter, the employee told dispatch that the suspect was walking toward them with the knife, and the phone line disconnected. Officers, concerned for the safety of the employees still in the building, entered the bank and arrested the suspect, identified by LPD as Jocelin Flores Alvarez, 24, Lodi…
