Massive shark washes ashore on island at North Carolina coast

CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WNCN) — A large dead shark washed ashore at the North Carolina coast early Tuesday in the wake of Hurricane Erin’s high surf late last week.

A massive hammerhead shark was discovered around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday near the northern end of Carolina Beach near the Clamshell access, according to Abby Grace Hollingsworth.
