A new Sicilian-Italian restaurant, CuGino, is coming soon to 117 South College Road in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Behind the concept are seasoned restaurateurs Gene Todaro, known locally for founding Marcello’s, and Hunter Moody, a Lafayette native and longtime operator in the Baton Rouge restaurant scene.

The name CuGino—Italian for “cousin”—offers more than just a nod to heritage. “It’s a play on my name,” Gene explains. “In Sicily, Cu means ‘with,’ so at CuGino, you’re dining with Gino.”…
