PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A months-long investigation led to a major methamphetamine bust in Providence, where federal agents seized nearly six pounds of the drug hidden under the hood of a vehicle, according to court documents obtained by NBC 10 News.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration arrested brothers Americo Ureña-Jimenez and Fausto Ureña-Jimenez on Monday night after investigators said they drove from New York to Providence to deliver methamphetamine to a residence on Detroit Avenue.
According to an affidavit filed in federal court, the DEA had been investigating the men for months, using a confidential source who told agents he had previously purchased pound quantities of meth from them in Providence.
