ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – The Community Empowerment Center at Booker T. Washington was first built in 1928 as the segregated Lucy Addison High School.
Over the years, it was renamed Booker T. Washington Junior High School, then became Roanoke City Public Schools’ Central Office.
