ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police have released body-worn camera footage from a shooting on Weyl Street on Aug. 14 where officers shot a suspect they say refused commands to stop pistol-whipping another man.
Police say on Aug. 14 at around 7 p.m., they were investigating a stolen car when they saw 48-year-old Lavar McKnight shooting at another man he was chasing on Weyl Street.

Officers began going after the men, where they say they saw McKnight on top of the other man, pistol-whipping him. The officers told McKnight to stop and show his hands, saying he ignored officers commands and therefore shot him in the torso…
