Travis County commissioners approve new contracts for voter-approved child care program

AUSTIN, Texas — Leaders have approved new contracts for Travis County’s voter-approved child care program.

On Tuesday, county commissioners formally approved nearly $10 million worth of contracts with Austin, Del Valle and Manor ISDs to provide after-school care for over 2,000 students each year.

Austin ISD will receive $3.7 million to serve 3-year-old children at Apple Blossom Centers. Manor ISD will receive $3.4 million for after-school and summer programs. And Del Valle ISD will receive about $2.5 million for pre-K after-school services…
