Lincoln Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault, Burglary and Threats Offenses

LINCOLN–(KFOR Aug. 25)–A 25-year-old Lincoln man is behind bars, accused of aggravated assault, but arrested for two counts each of burglary and terroristic threats, following a Sunday morning incident inside a convenience store near 27th and Dudley.

Lincoln Police public information manager Erika Thomas says the suspect, now identified as Zavion Simmons, walked in armed with a rifle, placed items on the counter and dropped the weapon during a transaction. Thomas says while Simmons paid for the items, there was fear from store employees and customers that a robbery was happening. No one was hurt…
