Watch viral video: Herd of elk surround car at stoplight in Estes Park

DENVER (KDVR) — An Estes Park resident was waiting at a stoplight in town, but when the light turned green, it wasn’t cars causing the traffic — it was a herd of elk.

Jake Beyer, a local photographer and videographer, said he was “completely surrounded” by elk the other day. He posted a video at the end of July on Instagram with the whole experience, which he was able to catch on camera.

The video shows the stoplight turning green, and around 20 elk are on the left, right and in front of his car. Here’s what his point of view looked like:

Since it was posted, the video has been blowing up online. Estes Park also posted the video.
