Man sentenced to over 15 years for drug trafficking

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A New York-based man has been sentenced to over 15 years in jail after pleading guilty to drug trafficking in Wilkes-Barre.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 42-year-old Jamell R. O’Neal pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl, along with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Department of Justice says O’Neal was illegally trafficking drugs in the Wilkes-Barre area from September 2023 to February 2024, culminating in an arrest on February 7, 2024.
