Man arrested attempting to cash forged check

Officers with Livingston Police Department responded Thursday, Aug. 14, to a report from One Bank regarding an individual attempting to cash a fraudulent check.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with bank staff who reported that the check in question had an address listed out of Chattanooga. Further examination revealed irregularities, including a shadowed font on the check numbers, an inconsistent authorized signature, and a silver “certified” sticker not found on legitimate checks previously issued by the account holder.
