CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — An audit reveals questions on discretionary spending made by Hamilton County Commissioners.
That audit, by Hamilton County Auditor Chris McCullough, which you can read below, contained 2 main findings:
- Donations made by commissioners from their discretionary funds weren’t always verified to be used for its intended purpose, and
- Reimbursements for commission expenditures were not always made in accordance with county policy.
Hamilton County Commissioners have had the discretionary funds available to earmark how they want since 2015.
