Cincinnati Man Involved in Brawl Now Faces Federal Drug Charges, Three Others Indicted

A Cincinnati man caught up in a downtown brawl last month has now been hit with federal drug charges. Jermaine Mathews, 39, previously charged with aggravated riot and assault, finds himself facing new accusations of cocaine and fentanyl distribution, according to a recent statement by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio.

The federal grand jury indictment follows a July 26 incident in which Mathews was labeled the main “coordinator.” While out on bond for the local charges, federal agents and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office RENU officials arrested him on further implications of narcotic trafficking, including operating a Kenton Street premise for this exact purpose.
