BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Ozzy, the puppy that was found suffocating inside of a tied-off garbage bag on the side of the road in Battle Creek on Aug. 13, has been making notable strides in his recovery journey, according to Sophia DiPietro, executive director of All Species Kinship (A.S.K.)
Rescuers believe the bag Ozzy was tied up inside of was thrown out of a moving car. He was found by a woman who said she heard his cries while at a stop sign.

Initially in critical condition, Ozzy has been under the care of A.S.K., a nonprofit animal rescue and rehabilitation organization based in Battle Creek.
“As you can see, he’s way more lively than the last time I was holding him,” DiPietro told News Channel 3 on Wednesday, two weeks to the date after his rescue.
