Families scramble for new doctors as Johns Hopkins and UnitedHealthcare split

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Many families in the D.C. area are scrambling to find new doctors after an agreement between Johns Hopkins and UnitedHealthcare expired Monday, affecting around 60,000 patients.

Sibley Memorial Hospital in Northwest D.C. and Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md. are the two Hopkins hospitals in the D.C. area, along with many doctors’ offices.

Families in D.C., Maryland and Virginia with UnitedHealthcare can no longer use Johns Hopkins doctors and hospitals at in-network rates.
