Two teenagers facing multiple charges for involvement in Cedar Rapids shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Two teenagers have been arrested in connection to a Cedar Rapids shooting that injured a young woman on August 14.

17-year-old Qwanell Beard and 16-year-old Artrell Beard are both charged with the following:

  • Robbery
  • Intimidation with a dangerous weapon
  • Assault while participating in a felony
  • Going armed with intent
  • Conspiracy to commit forcible felony
  • Use of a dangerous weapon in commission of crime
  • Persons ineligible to carry dangerous weapon
  • Possession of dangerous weapon by minor

On August 14, officers were called to the 4200 block of 21st Avenue SW after a report of shots fired. The incident took place in a parking lot of an apartment building.
