Heads up, drivers in West Baton Rouge Parish: The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced that both northbound and southbound lanes of LA 1 will be subject to intermittent closures. Scheduled to commence next Tuesday, at 7:00 p.m., and set to conclude next Wednesday, by 4:00 a.m., the interruption is a necessary step for phase II of the LA 1 Port Allen Canal Bridge Replacement project.
The intermittent closures will make way for necessary construction activities, including “the removal and placement of temporary striping and the placement of temporary concrete barriers along LA 1 Northbound and Southbound for the next traffic switch,” the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development stated.
