Supporters rally for release of DACA activist Catalina Xóchitl Santiago

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A DACA activist who was detained earlier this month at the El Paso International Airport is having her court hearing on Wednesday morning, Aug. 27, at the El Paso Processing Center.

Supporters are currently gathered outside the processing center demanding Catalina Xóchitl Santiago’s immediate release from her detention.

As Border Report previously reported, Santiago was detained at around 4 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, by two border patrol agents while she was waiting to board a domestic flight for work.

“Despite presenting a valid DACA work authorization card offering proof of her protection from deportation in the U.S., Border Patrol abducted and detained her without warrant or cause,” according to a GoFundMe created by Santiago’s friends and colleagues…
