Des Moines affordable housing complex for women could double in size thanks to public funding

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Polk County Board of Supervisors and Des Moines City Council are investing over $2 million in an affordable housing project specifically for women.

The funding will expand The Beacon Village, a complex that opened last year at an old motel in northeast Des Moines, off of Euclid Avenue.
