LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – More than 100 people gathered Wednesday evening at CenterPointe’s Wellbeing Garden to remember loved ones lost to addiction during International Overdose Awareness Day and Nebraska’s Overdose Awareness Week.
This was the second year CenterPointe hosted the event. Chief Clinical Officer Ryan Carruthers said while Nebraska has the lowest opioid overdose rate in the country, raising awareness and sharing resources remains critical.
“We’ve done a really good job of making sure people are aware of naloxone and how to reverse an overdose in progress, so we just want to continue that trend,” Carruthers said…
