Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois receive $15,000 grant for Camp Dean improvements

The Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois announced Tuesday that they have received a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley. The organization says those funds will be used to help with improvements at their Camp Dean facility located in Big Rock.

The improvements will be focused on replacing the camp’s outdoor amphitheater area, which is used year-round for Girl Scout activities and programs, volunteer training, and community gatherings. Planned upgrades include the replacement of the stage, a gravel-based seating area with improved drainage to prevent standing water buildup, and solar string lighting for evening events…
