CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Director of the Solid Waste Division put it simply: there’s really no better time for this kind of collaboration—and they’re not wrong.
We need to make sure that children are ready. You know, before they start school. We don’t want them to start school and then have them being introduced to reading the first time they enter school. You know, we want to make sure that children are ready before they enter kindergarten. So on our trucks, we are promoting the Dolly Parton Imagination Library on our trucks. So in the solid waste division, we service about 67 to 68,000 residents.
Imagine this: kids getting an up-close look at the massive waste collection trucks that help keep our air clean and our neighborhoods looking great. It’s hands-on, it’s exciting, it’s educational—and there’s even more to it…
