The audience enjoying the sold-out Alabama concert at The Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville on Saturday, Aug. 23, was witness to a special moment in the band’s history.

For the first time in over 20 years, drummer Mark Herndon joined singer and guitarist Randy Owen and bassist Teddy Gentry onstage. Donned in his signature sunglasses, headband, and sleeveless T-shirt, Herndon helped the band perform their crossover hit “Mountain Music”.
“It just fell together,” said Gentry in a statement. “The good Lord blesses us sometimes to do things that we can’t do. All we can do is kind of be in the wings and kind of hope for things. Like I said, we make plans, and he laughs. But there’s nothing he can’t do.”
“I felt like a little kid all day,” said Herndon. “It was so cathartic for everybody. I think it was on God’s time, I really do. It was magic all over again.”
