NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 39-year-old man was wounded in a shooting near Centennial Park in Nashville Wednesday night.
Officers were called to a parking lot in the 2700 block of West End Avenue around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the victim was shot in the thigh. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the suspect, 20-year-old Kelvin Burns, walked up to the scene while officers were helping the victim, claiming self-defense, but he wouldn’t make any statements beyond that. In addition, the victim was reportedly uncooperative with detectives when they tried to interview him at the hospital.
