A Leesburg man was arrested for battery after allegedly kicking his ex-girlfriend in the ribs while moving out of their residence.
Officers responded to a battery involving 33-year-old Angel Davon Maldonado at an undisclosed Lake County residence at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The complainant was a friend of Maldonado’s ex-girlfriend, and she stated he had already left the scene.
Upon arrival, the officers met with the friend and the ex-girlfriend. The latter advised that she and Maldonado had gotten into an altercation around 9 a.m. He had found messages between her and another person, leading him to end their relationship and move his things out of the residence, the report said.
They got into a verbal argument due to her believing he was taking items that were not his. While they were in the living room, he was sitting on the couch as she stood up. She was walking when he struck her with his leg and foot on her ribs, the report said…
