SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University (SU) Chancellor and Irondequoit native Kent Syverud has announced he is stepping down from his role.
In a letter addressed to students and staff, Syverud said he will officially be leaving in June 2026. Syverud has been the chancellor since 2013.
In his letter, he called his time at SU the “greatest privilege” of his career. He also showed his gratitude for his leadership team, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
