5 years later, suspect in Avondale woman’s murder remains at large

AVONDALE, La. (WGNO) — On August 25, 2020, Jefferson Parish deputies responded to a shooting in Avondale. At the scene, they found two victims, a father and daughter. The woman died at the scene. Her father survived.

It didn’t take long for deputies to name a suspect, but 5 years later, he remains on the loose. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

According to the JPSO, around 7:15 that night, Ronnika Richburg’s ex-boyfriend, Lloyd Jones, forced his way into her home in the 100 block of Millie Drive and opened fire. The couple’s four-year-old child was also there at the time, but only Richburg and her father were shot.
