Man indicted for murder, animal cruelty after shooting outside Gilbert motel

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man arrested in connection with a deadly shooting outside a motel in Gilbert earlier this month has been indicted.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday that a grand jury has indicted 56-year-old John Alderman on charges of murder and animal cruelty following a shooting-turned-standoff on Aug. 12.

Just before 6 p.m. that evening, 911 dispatchers received multiple calls about the sound of gunshots coming from the InTown Suites Extended Stay near Country Club Drive and Guadalupe Road. Other witnesses reported seeing a man firing multiple rounds into the windshield of an occupied Ford Escape…
