Florida man caught selling firearms on e-bike arrested after fleeing deputies

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida man is behind bars after after he was caught trying to sell firearms on an e-bike.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said that on Sunday, August 24, deputies began conducting surveillance at the residence of Christopher Newman, a 12-time convicted felon, after law enforcement received tips about him trying to sell firearms in Tampa.

Newman, 44, was seen on East Sligh Avenue traveling on an e-bike and carrying a large bag. Hillsborough County deputies attempted a traffic stop, but Newman fled by weaving through traffic and abandoning the bag on the side of the road…
